Animals

Eider Duck

Watercolour

Actually this is part of a 2 page spread in a watercolour sketchbook filled with Eiders.

Lapwing

Watercolour

Lapwings are everywhere where I live. Although the numbers have dynastically decreased over the past decades. The Netherlands have a special history with these birds and their eggs. As a small girl I used to go egg searching with my grandfather. So there is a special place in my heart for these birds.

Raven

Charcoal

A couple of months ago I discovered liquid charcoal and this raven was one of the first things I painted with it.

Long-tailed Tit

Charcoal, watercolour and coloured pencil

One of my favourite birds is the Long-tailed Tit. And I've painted and sketched them many times.
I sometimes have them in my garden but never for long. They are fast and small but soooo cute.

Cockchafer

Coloured Pencil

We always have some Maybeetles in the garden. I made this tiny drawing (it's about 3x3 cm) back in 2010.

European common frog

Rana temporaria
Pen, ink and watercolour

As part of a series about the lifecycle of frogs.

Tadpole

Pen, ink and watercolour

This was also in the same series like the frog, about the metamorphosis of frogs.

Red Squirrel

Watercolour

A very old little painting I did of a red squirrel.
